As part of the expansion of our team at our Almaty office, we are currently looking for a Pipeline / Layout Designer.

JOB

DUTIES

• Ensure full compliance with HSEQ requirements relevant to Layout and Civil Engineering, following industry standards, regulatory frameworks, and company best practices.
• Provide technical input to engineering studies, including layout reviews, 3D model reviews, HAZOPs, SIL assessments, and constructability evaluations, with emphasis on layout optimization and clash resolution.
• Apply a safety-first approach in design decisions, particularly in congested oil & gas plant environments, ensuring operability and maintainability.
• Under the supervision of the Department Manager / Piping / Pipeline Team Lead,
• Coordinate with project management and other disciplines (Piping, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation) to develop integrated pipeline layouts and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Ensure that layout design outputs meet project-specific technical requirements, engineering codes, and best practices.
• Participate in interdisciplinary model reviews and support development of design change documents related to layout adjustments.
• Review vendor documents and packages to assess fit within the overall layout, identify conflicts, and propose interface solutions.
• Evaluate and incorporate topographic and geotechnical survey inputs into site layout planning and facility arrangement, planimetric and altimetric survey interpretation and design according to applicable rules and standards.
• Contribute to design activities across various phases : conceptual layouts, FEED, detailed design, and as-built documentation.
• Perform and check layout-related engineering calculations (e.g., crane access, transportation routes, minimum spacing) and resolve spatial planning challenges.
• Prepare layout-related deliverables : plot plans, equipment arrangement drawings, underground routing plans, MTOs, and layout studies.
• Develop and optimize internal / external road networks and facility layouts across sites with varying elevations, ensuring proper grading, drainage, vehicular access, and integration with structural foundations and underground services.
• Provide layout engineering support during site visits, construction, and commissioning phases to ensure alignment with design intent.
• Coordinate with construction teams to verify buildability of proposed layouts and support field engineering resolutions.
• Maintain and develop standardized documentation, engineering practices, and knowledge sharing relevant to layout engineering.
